The Danfoss Compressor: For Air Conditioning And Refrigeration

by | Aug 29, 2016 | Tools and Equipment

The Danfoss Group dates back to 1933 when Mads Clausen (1905-1966) founded the company. From a small company, it has grown to become one of the largest manufacturers of commercial compressors in the world. Today, it produces a variety of products and services in such industries as:

  • Food refrigeration
  • Air conditioning
  • Heating buildings
  • Electric motor controls
  • Drives
  • Equipment to power mobile machinery
  • Solar power
  • Wind power
  • Heating and cooling infrastructure for larger employment e.g. towns, cities and urban communities
  • Compressors

In fact, the Danfoss compressor is suitable for both air conditioning and refrigerating units and systems.

Compressors for Air Conditioning

Danfoss provides compressors to satisfy the demands of air conditioning units and systems for rooftops and other commercial applications. In 2013, they introduced their initial series of scroll compressors. This was the WSH series of R410A scroll compressors. Its purpose was to “optimize HVAC systems with low condensing temperatures.” These compressors:

  • Operate at low temperature ratios
  • Are energy efficient under part-load conditions – as much as a 5 percent increase
  • Quick connector plug – available to reduce the instances of miswiring while reducing time spent on assembly
  • Increased reliability
  • Different manifold options for the system

In 2016, Danfoss introduced the second generation of scroll compressors. This was the Danfoss VZH inverter scroll compressor. This type of Danfoss compressor was a further development on the earlier variable-speed technology. Available in smaller and several ton, cooling capacities, these compressors continue to provide their customers with their characteristic enhanced comfort and efficiency, while addressing the serious issue of sustainability.

Compressors for Refrigeration

Refrigerant compressors are intended to meet the demands of applications that are light in nature. As is the case with all Danfoss products, the compressors are for commercial employment. In general, each compressor is designed for a specific purpose. Among the most common are:

  • Commercial refrigerators and freezers
  • Display cabinets
  • Glass door merchandisers

They are compatible with conventional refrigerants R407A, R407C, R407F, R134a, R404A/R507A and R22. They are also able to operate with the green refrigerants R290and R600a. These are energy efficient systems, very dependable, in part because of their fixed and inverter solution.

The Danfoss Compressor: Found Worldwide

The Danfoss Group, with its headquarters located in Nordborg, Denmark is a group that designs, manufactures and sells its products to a global market. With plants in Europe and North America, it continues to provide products and services that meet the requirements and demands of its customers. A successful company, it relies that a portion of its worldwide achievements lies in its ability to reliably replicate various high quality products, including the reputable commercially compatible and technically adept, Danfoss compressor.
