All What You Need to Know About Dentures in Tulsa

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. There are two major types of dentures in Tulsa. They include: the partial and complete dentures. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, while complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing.

Partial Dentures
Partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum colored plastic base that is held together by a metal framework. Partial bridges can also be used when some part of the natural teeth has remained either in the upper or lower jaw. A permanent (fixed) denture replaces the teeth by placing crowns on them and then attaching artificial teeth to them. The dentures are then cemented to make the artificial teeth firm. A partial denture helps to fill in gaps created by the missing teeth and it also prevents the other remaining teeth from changing their position. The best thing about these dentures is that they are removable and also resemble the natural teeth. That means people will not notice whether your teeth are artificial or natural.

Complete Dentures
Complete dentures are only used if the patient has lost all their teeth. There are two different forms of complete dentures which include the immediate and convectional dentures. Convectional dentures are usually made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissues have begun to heal. This is approximately eight to twelve months after the teeth have been removed. Immediate dentures, on the other hand, are usually made before or immediately after the teeth are removed. That means that the patient does not have to wait for the gums to heal, as it is the case of the convectional dentures. The only disadvantage of the immediate dentures is that they need frequent adjustment to make them to fit properly during the healing process. In addition, they are only considered a temporary solution until the convectional dentures can be made.

Will Dentures Make You Different?
Dentures Tulsa are made to resemble your natural teeth. That means you will not experience any noticeable changes in your appearance after you have your dentures attached. In fact, they may even fill out your facial appearance and give you a glowing smile.
