Humans figured out how to heat their shelters tens of thousands of years before they figured out how to cool them down. While the idea of heat in a prehistoric setting might have strictly relied on fire, it wasn’t long at all until people started to figure out that different oil lamps and radiator systems put off heat. All these years later, there are many different types of heaters you can purchase in order to heat up a home, an office space, a shed, or any other confined area that needs to be heated. One of the best types of heater available on the market today is a kapton film heater. Here are a couple of reasons why these heaters really stand out.
Thin and Flexible Heaters
The first reason is that the heating elements are very thin and inherently flexible. They rely on a polyimide film that’s wrapped around foil coils, so you can set up with a heater that can produce a very high heat with very thin heating elements. It’s like a toaster, in a sense, that sends out radiant heat. This means that the heaters themselves can be very small and you can tuck them away in corners, tight spaces, small rooms, etc, yet still get a lot of heat out of them.
Very Energy Efficient
Another strong point of a kapton film heater is that they’re very energy efficient. The foil and the thin coils do not draw a lot of energy in order to heat up, and some fan-powered models will then blow that heat out, or it can just radiate out. Either way, the heater itself is using very little electricity to run.
